Westminster NIMBYs block 405 Expansion
Now Westminster is having a fit about the possible widening of the 405 freeway and wants to block the expansion.
They are upset it might take some homes and businesses. However, they don't realize that the freeway being there in the first place allowed many more homes and businesses to be built.

Perhaps "NIMBY" is the wrong acronym. "RTMLR" Right through my living room" is perhaps more accurate. I'd get exercised too if the state tried to take my house so somebody from somewhere else can get there faster.

My house was taken by the state for a freeway in 1963 and then when I moved, a few years later the state built, in 1982, a freeway behind my new house! You might think that I would be upset but I am not upset with the State I am upset with you short sighted NIMBYs that think you are something special!
I assume that you drive a car and that you do use the freeways! And how short sighted and selfish you are that you can drive on someone else's former front yard but refuse to give up yours! They call that Hypocrisy and you people that oppose Freeways are the worst kind of hypocrites!
The good people of South Pasadena that have spent every cent in their cities treasury over the last 50 years to oppose the Long Beach Freeway extension (I-710) are a classic example of short sighted hypocrites! The Man that owned Winston Tires lived in South Pasadena before his death and he made millions selling Tires but he just did not want them in his city!
If you NIMBY's had of been asked to fund Columbus's first Voyage to the new world we would all still be sitting on the Spanish beach!

Double Deck the freeway! Leave my mom's Senior Mobile Home Park ALONE! What does the city propose to do with 300 or more senior citizens, where are they going to place them? Double Deck The Damn Freeway and Leave Mom Alone!!!!
